School Team Honours

School Team Honours will be awarded based on the combined best two out of three stableford scores each round, of the three lowest‑handicap players from each school (handicaps taken as of 30 August 2026).

  • Eligibility
    • Each school may qualify for one team in the 18‑hole event and one team in the 9‑hole event.
    • Schools with multiple golfers entered in the individual divisions are automatically considered for Team Honours — no separate registration is required.
  • Team Composition
    • A Team Honours entry will consist of the three lowest‑handicap players, all of whom must be in Division One to be eligible.
    • Schools unable to field three players may enter a two‑player team. In this case, all scores will count, which may place the team at a disadvantage. Both players must be in Division One to be eligible.
  • Additional Notes
    • Extra players beyond the team allocation will compete in the individual formats only.
    • Schools with insufficient numbers for a team may still enter individual players

Qualifying Criteria

At the close of registrations (3 June 2026), players will be ranked by handicap index, provided they meet the compulsary eligibility criteria outlined below.

Event Allocation

  • Players ranked 1–90 will compete in the 18‑hole event.
  • Players ranked 91–180 will compete in the 9‑hole event.
  • The maximum handicap for the 18‑hole event is 36.4 index. If fewer than 90 players meet this threshold, no additional participants will be added to the 18‑hole field.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Players must be a financial member of a golf club as of the registrations closing date (3 June 2026).
  • Players must hold an official Golf New Zealand handicap as of the registrations closing date (3 June 2026).
  • Players must have submitted at least eight (8) rounds into DotGolf between 1 January 2026 and the registrations closing date (3 June 2026). Accepted rounds can be 18 Hole, 9 Hole, or a combination of both.

Important: Players who do not meet the compulsary eligibility criteria by the registrations closing date will not be eligible to participate, and their entry will be discluded — regardless of handicap.

Additional Note: Handicaps will not be frozen for the event.

Oversubscription

The event is capped at a maximum of 180 golfers.

  • If entries exceed this limit, places will be allocated in handicap order (lowest to highest).
  1. The lowest 90 players* based on handicap index will compete in the 18 Hole event.
*The maximum handicap for the 18 Hole event is a 36.4 index. If there are less than 90 participants on a 36.4 handicap index, no additional players will make the 18 Hole event.
  2. The next 90 players (ranked 91–180) will compete in the 9 Hole event.
  3. If more than one participant has the exact same handicap at the cut‑off point, selection will be determined by:
    1. The highest number of rounds entered in DotGolf between 1 January 2026 and the registrations closing date (3 June 2026).
    2. If still tied, a random ballot will be conducted.
  • Schools will be notified as soon as possible, and no later than 10 June 2026, if a student has not been accepted.
  • In the event of oversubscription, participation will be at the discretion of the Executive Committee. No further correspondence will be entered into. If a participant is unsuccessful, the registration fee will be refunded.

2026 Divisions Criteria – NEW

Once both the 9‑hole and 18‑hole fields have been finalised, the divisions criteria will apply.

Please note: All confirmed participants will retain their place in the event. The divisions criteria will simply determine which division they are allocated to.

18 Hole Event

  • In addition to the qualifying criteria, participants must submit at least six (6) rounds of golf into DotGolf between 4 June 2026 and 30 August 2026. Accepted rounds can be 18 Hole, 9 Hole, or a combination of both.
  • These rounds are in addition to those submitted from 1 January 2026 to the registrations closing date (3 June 2026).
  • Division Allocation:
    • Players who meet the divisions criteria will be placed in Division One (eligible to win medals).
    • Players who do not meet the divisions criteria will be placed in Division Two (not eligible for medals, but certificates will be awarded for placings).

9 Hole Event

  • In addition to the qualifying criteria, participants must submit at least six (6) rounds of golf into DotGolf between 4 June 2026 and 30 August 2026. Accepted rounds can be 18 Hole, 9 Hole, or a combination of both.
  • These rounds are in addition to those submitted from 1 January 2026 to the registrations closing date (3 June 2026).
  • Division Allocation:
    • Players who meet the divisions criteria will be placed in Division One (eligible to win medals).
    • Players who do not meet the divisions criteria will be placed in Division Two (not eligible for medals, but certificates will be awarded for placings)

School Supervision

  • Each school must provide one adult supervisor per event (18 Hole and/or 9 Hole).
  • Supervisors are responsible for monitoring the groups their players are assigned to.
  • Duties include assisting with the pace of play and supporting accurate scoring.

Multi-Code Participation

Students may enter more than one sporting code, provided they meet permitted code crossover eligibility.

Please note: No timetable adjustments will be made to accommodate scheduling conflicts between sporting codes. It is the responsibility of each school and the parents/caregivers to ensure that students’ chosen events do not overlap.
