ATHLETE WELLBEING

Our goal is TO provide an INcredible Zespri AIMS Games experience for every sINgle AThlete, with an emphasis ON INclusiveness, camaraderie, enjoyment AND developINg new skills.

Taha tinana (physical wellbeing)

Opportunities will be provided for AIMS Games athletes, coaches and officials to develop skills to be the best physical version of themselves, including developing healthy habits such as warm up and cool down exercises, good hydration, managing time on the playing field and having a balanced diet.

Taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing)

Opportunities will be provided for AIMS Games athletes, coaches and officials to incorporate their culture, religion, traditions, values and whānau into their AIMS Games experience.  Diversity and individuality will be championed.

Taha whānau (family wellbeing)

Opportunities will be provided for whānau of athletes to be an integral part of their Zespri AIMS Games experience, with positive sideline behaviour celebrated.

Taha hinengaro (mental wellbeing)

Opportunities will be provided for Zespri AIMS Games athletes, coaches and officials to have a positive sporting experience on and off the sports field.  Achieving personal and team goals and modelling the Zespri AIMS Games Fair Play Oath will be recognised and rewarded.

Taha whenua (environmental wellbeing)

Opportunities will be provided for AIMS Games athletes, coaches and officials to learn about the history of Tauranga Moana, mana whenua and locations of cultural significance.  Initiatives for athletes to give back to the environment and the community that is hosting them will be encouraged.
