Sportsmanship Medals 

At the Zespri AIMS Games, we believe that true success in sport is not only measured by results, but also by the character and conduct of our athletes. To recognise and celebrate these values, each Team Manager will receive Sportsmanship Medals as part of their team pack.

• For team sports, one Sportsmanship Medal will be provided per team.
• For individual sports, schools that have registered four or more athletes in an individual sport will receive one Sportsmanship Medal for that sporting code.

The recipient of each medal is selected by the team’s management and/or fellow team members. Medals should be awarded to athletes who demonstrate overall excellence, with particular emphasis on the following attributes:

• Presentation – consistently upholding a high standard of personal presentation.
• Punctuality – arriving on time for games and fulfilling all duty responsibilities.
• Competition – displaying skill, determination, and a commitment to fair play.
• Respect – showing courtesy and sportsmanship towards officials, opponents, teammates, and all visitors to the tournament.

In addition to these school-awarded medals, Zespri AIMS Games Code Coordinators across all sporting codes will have a limited number of additional Sportsmanship Medals to present at their discretion. These may be awarded to athletes who exemplify the spirit of the Games through outstanding attitude, integrity, and respect.
