GIVE BACK GAMES
Give back, get involved, and win!
Tauranga City Council’s Give Back Games are back, offering fun, meaningful ways to support your host city. Take part in a coastal clean-up, plant trees, rescue surplus kai with Good Neighbour, and help reduce landfill waste by using Boomerang Mugs. Plus, catch the dedicated free buses and travel sustainably throughout the week.
Get involved, give back, and your school could be in to win!
Further event and school registration details coming soon.
The coastal clean-up is back! We love how passionate our athletes are about helping to look after our beautiful Tauranga beaches. Everything you’ll need on the day will be provided, just make sure you bring covered shoes.
Dig in to help plant trees for this important biodiversity project. Kōpurererua Valley is a 300-hectare block of wetland land in the city that for many years was inhabited by the people of Ngāi Tamarāwaho. It’s a special area that’s being lovingly restored. The planting day is a chance for you to get your hands in the earth and be part of its legacy.
If your team doesn’t get through all the kai you brought for the week, Tauranga City Council and their friends at Good Neighbour will have food rescue stations set up at some of the venues for you to drop off.
With 20,000 visitors to the city, the roads will be busy. Tauranga City Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council are providing free buses to make it easy for you to get to your games. These dedicated Zespri AIMS Games buses will loop around the key sports venues.
Did you know, 500 billion disposable coffee cups are thrown away globally each year? There will be a Boomerang Mug Station set up at Blake Park Monday-Friday of event week. Bring along your reusable cup or choose from our selection of curated mugs, and simply bring it back when you’re done.
