THE KAITIAKI TROPHY

The Kaitiaki Trophy celebrates the school that goes above and beyond in showing kaitiakitanga (guardianship) through the Give Back Games, earning the highest points across the week.

This trophy was crafted by Mike Buck of the Tauranga Woodcrafters Guild and is designed to embody the spirit of ‘’Kaitiaki for a better tomorrow”.

The winning school will also score an epic haul of Zespri AIMS Games-branded merch to share and celebrate!

•    2024 Winners: Te Awamutu Intermediate – recognised for their outstanding use of the Zespri AIMS Games bus service and wide participation in other activities.

In addition to the Kaitiaki Trophy, there is also a Give Back Games Participation Award up for grabs.  The Participation Award recognises the school that earns the most points per student, highlighting the collective effort of their team. The winning school will win their very own native tree - sorted by Tauranga City Council - so they can leave a lasting mark on their school grounds!

•    2024 Winners: Bombay School – earning the most points per student through a huge effort in the coastal clean-up and involvement across nearly all the activities.
