All registrations must be submitted online by each school’s designated Zespri AIMS Games Coordinator using their unique login code.

PLANNING INFORMATION

Entry Fees

  • NZ$80.00 per surfer (non-refundable)
  • Payment is due within 7 days of invoice receipt
  • Invoices will be issued to school accounts managers after entries close

Eligibility

Students must be aged over 10 and under 13 years as of 31 December 2025. For the 2026 Games, eligible birth years are 2013, 2014, and 2015. Birthdates must be provided during registration.

Competition Divisions

  • Year 7 Boys
  • Year 7 Girls
  • Year 8 Boys
  • Year 8 Girls

There is no restriction on the number of surfers a school may register.

Competitor Requirements

  • All competitors must be affiliated with their local Board Rider’s Club.
  • Competitors are expected to have participated in at least two local surfing events prior to entering the 2026 Zespri AIMS Games.
  • Competitors who do not meet these requirements may still be considered, at the discretion of the organising committee.

Multi-Code Participation

Students may enter more than one sporting code, provided they meet permitted code crossover eligibility.

Please note: No timetable adjustments will be made to accommodate scheduling conflicts between sporting codes. It is the responsibility of each school and the parents/caregivers to ensure that students’ chosen events do not overlap.

RULES​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  1. There is no limit on the number of students schools can enter.

  2. Each competitor will compete in a minimum of two rounds (5 heats in each).

  3. Maximum 10 waves per surfer in each heat.

  4. Top two wave scores combine to give total heat score.

  5. Surfers with the highest combined score totals across the two heats progress to semi finals and finals.

  6. Competitors must surf within the arena flags.

MEDAL PRESENTATIONS

The top three place getters in each division will be presented with medals and certificates at the conclusion of the finals.
