* Tauranga City is in the heart of the Bay of Plenty region.
Tauranga City extends from the Wairoa River in the west to the Kaimai-Mamaku ranges in the south and the Pacific Ocean on the north and east. The district has a total land area of 12,742 hectares. As at 1 March 2004 Tauranga has a resident population of 100,000 (est.) which is 2.4 percent of the total New Zealand population.

MEASLES - as of Friday 12 August 2011 there have been no confirmed cases of measles in the Bay of Plenty however there have been instances of measles in other provinces attending NZCT AIMS GAMES.
